Release: Centerline Action Applauds House Energy & Commerce Leadership on LNG Export Ban Hearing

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE | February 6, 2024

Washington, D.C.: Centerline Action Board President James Dozier released the following statement on today’s Subcommittee on Energy, Climate & Grid Security hearing focused on the Biden’s Administration’s LNG Export Ban.

“It has long been the finding under Democratic and Republican administrations, along with the Department of Energy, that U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports strongly serve the public interest because they responsibly reduce global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions while boosting our economy giving the U.S. a global economic advantage. Recent efforts to restrain U.S. LNG exports carries the potential to jeopardize these benefits, while also threatening domestic energy jobs and the security of America and our allies. Centerline applauds members of the Energy & Commerce Committee, and most notably Committee Chair Cathy McMorris Rogers and Subcommittee Chair Jeff Duncan, for amplifying the benefits of LNG and how a ban will harm the American economy, our energy security, and our national security.”
